Privacy Policy

This notice describes the services the site actually loads and the information readers can choose to submit.

What we collect

If you subscribe to the email dispatch, your email address is sent to Buttondown. If you submit a tip, the tip category, message, and any optional reply address are sent to Formspree. Plate & Press does not sell those submissions or use them to build advertising profiles. Review the Buttondown privacy policy and Formspree privacy policy for those providers' practices.

Cookies

Plate & Press does not set advertising cookies. Plausible Analytics is configured as a cookieless analytics service. The site does use local browser storage for theme and type-size preferences, bookmarks, reading position, game progress, and browser-notification state. That data stays in the browser unless the reader clears it.

Analytics

The site loads Plausible Analytics for aggregate traffic and event counts. Plate & Press records events such as an article reaching its read marker, a newsletter signup, or a search being performed. Raw search terms are not sent as custom event properties. Plausible states that its service does not use cookies or collect personal data.

Third-party services

This static site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Fonts load through the Google Fonts Web API. Google's current disclosure says font requests include the reader's IP address, requested URL, browser headers, and referring page, and that the Fonts API does not set or log cookies. Email and tip submissions use the providers named above.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe using the link in an email. For an access, correction, or deletion request concerning information submitted to Plate & Press, contact us and identify the address or submission involved. Provider-held data is also subject to the provider's process and applicable law.
